Sold movie, especially since I didn’t really know much about the comic. I want to start talking like he does on earth - lines like “This mortal form grows weak. I require sustenance!” and walking into a pet store and demanding “I need a horse! Or a dog large enough to transport me!”
PS the …
I agree, and it looks like there a bunch of other interesting sci-fi movies that would...

Rectal cancer symposium
Desperately trying not to fall asleep. I had to go in last night around midnight for an upper bleed. We didn’t scope, thankfully, so I was back home around 2, but I just feel overly sleepy. So, in a rare moment, I’m writing about what I’m doing at the moment. I typically never do that because, well, let’s face it… No one cares, and when we “blog” mundane...

Yesterday, at the grocery store downstairs, the woman behind me was buying three things. A bottle of wine, a cut of salmon, and a package of AA batteries. I guess she was planning a quiet evening alone.

There Will Be Brawl →
Yet another internet phenomenon that I missed out on during its prime. But I’m so, so thankful I still came across it. We all enjoy webcomics and video clips and other fun stuff referencing or re-imagining classic video games, but this… this is masterful. If you have ever even touched a Smash Bros game, or even if you just know what the series is about and have played...

Not That Dignified: very premature evo review →
So I got the HTV Evo 4G today - no pressing reason to get it, but I had a little loyalty gift card from sprint that defrayed the cost, and it’s showing my support both to the company and to the anti-iphone cause :)
Also my trackball on the blackberry has been acting up, so I figured that was a…

Flower (yes, I'm years behind) →
I downloaded Flower the other night ($10, playstation network) and played through it over two days. (You only need about an hour to play it all the way through). For anybody unfamiliar, the game is from thatgamecompany and is the spiritual successor to Flow. I actually thought it was significantly better. It’s not really a “game” in that there may be objectives for...

Dear Mr.Bhatra,
Your test results came back and I’ve discovered why you’ve had this tingling feeling. Turns out you had a mild stroke.
Sincerely, Dr. Tummuru

Is this for real? It sounds like a parody, except I could totally see this in Cosmo or some other girly magazine.

In a recent effort to clean out my pantry, I ate nearly a whole box of Trader Joe’s Organic High Fiber O’s. I found out the hard (err, soft? explosive?) way that you can indeed have too much fiber in your diet.

We had to do one or two of these as an example during a lecture/conference regarding diversity training today. Take one or two and tell me what you think. We’re all pretty intelligent people here, so I’m really curious as to your thoughts on the way these are set up. Supposedly, they have internal validity and have been matched with observational trials.

This view is entirely based upon the belief that Amazon is selling the Kindle to build up momentum behind their eBook standard - but I think that belief is correct. Under this view the Kindle was intended to be, and _is_ a bridging device, but more importantly, a standard setting (and potentially a loss leader).
In related news, I might have learned something in my...

I’ve heard this argument before, namely that the kindle/reader are pointless because the iphone can display ebooks. (and the same argument for using a netbook to view ebooks, the bottom line being that the kindle and reader are very limited application devices for what you pay). I recently bought a reader (just a little over a week ago). Prior to this, i had read ebooks...
